Four Underrated Television Shows That Are Worth Viewing
If you haven't heard of the shows, please check them out. You will be surprised how good they actually are, even though they have been cancelled.
1. Tru Calling (2003-2005)
Starring Eliza Dushku and Jason Priestley, this show is about Tru Davies, a young morgue attendant who finds out that she has the unique ability to rewind days in order to save the lives of the dead. She is joined by her quirky boss (Zack Galifianakis) and gamble-holic brother, Harrison, who are the only two people who know what she can do. Jason Priestley plays Jack, a co-worker who is determined to stop Tru at all costs, claiming that she is setting the world off balance. The show lasted only two seasons, and Fox never premiered the final episode until 2008, when the marathon was aired on SyFy.

2. Dead Like Me (2003-2004)
Imagine if after you died, you were given a second chance at life - with a catch. That's exactly what happens to Georgia Lass, an eighteen-year-old girl who is killed by a falling toilet seat from the Russian space station. George is a grim reaper, who is forced into the job by her rag-tag group of reaper friends, headed by Mandy Patinkin (Criminal Minds). The show follows George's journey of self-discovery, and we see her gradually shift from a naive teenager to a mature (albeit dead) adult. The show was nominated for two Primetime Emmys before being canceled after only two seasons.
3. Veronica Mars (2004-2007)
One of the best detective shows of all time, Veronica Mars is quirky, sarcastic, and deeply enthralling. Starring Kristen Bell as the resident detective, the story revolves around the small California town of Neptune. Veronica, the daughter of Neptune's former sheriff turned private eye, will stop at nothing to solve the case of her best friend's brutal murder. The show has one of the most cleverly written scripts you will ever find, and the acting is simply superb. Lasting three seasons, the show was cancelled in 2007. Their was a teaser to a fourth season, in which Veronica was shown as an FBI agent, and Rob Thomas, the director, has tried numerous times to get funding for a feature film.

4. Dark Angel (2000-2002)
In her break-out role, Jessica Alba stars as Max Guevera, a genetically altered super soldier who has escaped from the evil clutches of Manticore, a secret government project. Set in post-apocalyptic Seattle, the show revolves around Max's struggle to hide her true identity from the people around her, and her efforts to find others like her. She is joined by her friends Logan (Michael Weatherly), who moonlights as the cyber journalist "Eyes Only", and Original Cindy, her lesbian best friend. In the first season, we follow Max's fight against Manticore and her "creator" Donald Lydecker. Season two starts off with the fall of Manticore and an introduction to an even bigger bad guy: Ames White. It's in this season where Max finds out that her destiny is bigger than anything she could ever imagine. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled due to low ratings and to make room for Joss Whedon's Firefly, another good but short-lived sci-fi series.
